Dry Brush Your Way To Beautiful Skin

Whether you’re recreating a spa retreat or squeezing in five mindful minutes before bed – dry brushing suits every kind of self-care routine. It’s quick. It’s effective. And it’s satisfyingly simple. Here’s how to take your skin from glum to glowing in a matter of minutes with this natural (and inexpensive) exfoliation technique.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DRY BODY BRUSHING?

It exfoliates the skin, removes dead skin cells and sweeps away dirt of the day – natural radiance coming through!

The firm bristles of your brush can boost circulation (you might notice a little redness), promote lymphatic drainage, and unclog your pores. Goodbye toxins.

Psst – find more natural ways to improve your circulation here.

IS THERE A DRY BODY BRUSHING TECHNIQUE?

You bet! It might be simple, but there’s still a method to follow:

First, make sure your skin is completely dry. It’s best to do this before your shower.

Starting from your feet and working your way up, use long sweeping strokes in the direction of your heart. On your stomach, switch to circular motions. And when you get to your arms, work from the hands upwards.

Use a medium pressure, but be sure not to press too hard – it should be pleasant, not painful.

SHOULD YOU DRY BODY BRUSH EVERYDAY?

As with any kind of exfoliation, it’s possible to overdo it. We recommend dry brushing once to twice a week (or every couple of weeks if you have sensitive skin). And remember to give your brush a rinse between scrubs.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO AFTER DRY BRUSHING?

After dry brushing, take a shower to wash away those dead skin cells. Opt for a cleansing and hydrating shower gel, like our Coconut Body Wash.

Then, replenish your newly smoothed skin and intensify your glow with a nourishing moisturiser. Our silky body lotions are 99% naturally-derived: full of skin-loving ingredients with none of the nasties.
