Faith in the Future Council

It’s been hard keeping this under wraps for so long, but we’re thrilled to say that Future Council makes its world premiere at this week’s Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).

Directed by and featuring Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film; 2040), Future Council feels like School of Rock meets An Inconvenient Truth as Gameau takes eight kids on the ultimate school excursion: a road trip across Europe to seek solutions to the climate crisis. On their journey, the kids speak to multinational uber-polluters, politicians, and eco minded organisations trying to do business a different way. One of which is… us!

No spoilers here, obviously. But what we would really love to say is Thank You. To Regen Studios and Damon Gameau, of course. But especially to the eight, wonderful, stars of the show — Aurvi, CC, Joaquin, Joseph, Karla, Ruby, Skye and Viva.

We meet a lot of wonderful people doing what we do, but these eight kids filled our hearts with happiness. It was a privilege spending time with eight people so aware, so honest, and so positive and it was impossible not to feel hopeful in their presence. And maybe that’s why the world needs this film, these kids and others like them, right now.

Here’s a little teaser, a first chance to meet the Future Council.

If you can make it to Melbourne this week, tickets are available here.

For everyone else, general release is early ’25. Popcorn shampoo, anyone?
