The Best Things About Spring
We all know that spring is a beautiful time of new beginnings, but busy lives can make it hard to stop and notice. Seasons are fleeting, and setting aside time to observe what’s happening in Nature right now can do wonders for our mood. You could even try Nature journalling, to help you relax and keep a record of what you find. Looking for inspiration? We asked our staff to share some of their favourite things about spring…
“More like a new year than January”
"I love the lighter mornings during spring, it means I can take the dog for a walk before work and we’ve also had some new neighbours move in (pictured above) which we now walk by every day. For me, spring feels much more like the start of a new year than January so should be celebrated!" - Elinor, Executive Assistant | PA to Director
New Buds and Blue Skies
"What excites me the most about every spring is the very new buds peeking through. They speak to me and I to them. It's a celebration of life and I get recharged when I see them. In addition, the warmer days, increased sunshine and blue skies are enthralling." - Rivka, Founder
“The promise of summer”
"Spring is the time when suddenly Nature comes to life. After the slumber of the winter, the migrating birds start to return, the spring bulbs start to push forth and the whole season holds the promise of summer just around the corner. My favourite is seeing the tulips, daffodils and spring bulbs bringing forth colour as the days start to get longer." - Candice, Chief Financial Officer and Interim CEO
“The moment is entirely mine!”
"My favourite thing is when I get up super early to run and for the first time it isn’t completely dark. It means I can go down to the river and run as the sun rises and there’s no one else there. It always smells amazing and it’s the best feeling – I forget all about what’s coming up that day, and the moment is entirely mine!" - Sarah, Project Manager
Grateful for the Blossom
"My favourite thing about Spring is the lighter evenings and seeing the blossom growing on the trees. Life doesn’t stand still, no matter what we’re going through, nothing lasts forever, and the change into spring is a reminder of that. I am always grateful to see the blossom growing; it always makes me smile." - Lynsey, New Product Development Manager
Water Babies
"I love seeing the baby ducks, geese and swans on the river near my flat, as well as the blossoms on the trees pop out." - Ellie, Marketing Executive
More Water Babies!
"I love it when the ducklings appear on the canal near my house." - Jen, Digital Marketing Lead
Lighter Evenings
"I love the lighter evenings and the occasional warmer days. It’s a chance to get back outside without having the battle the weather. " - Shelagh, Office Manager
Birdsong in the Air
"I love the longer evenings and clear birdsong." - Imogen, Studio Manager
Nature's Upcycling
"Horses shed their thick winter coats in spring. When I brush the horse I look after at this time of year, huge piles of fluff roll across the farmyard. It’s never long before a bird hops along, gathering big beakfuls of the fur to line its nest. Some birds also take the longer tail hair and intricately weave it through the twigs in their nests. It’s an amazing reminder of Nature's synergy – and the animal kingdom's version of upcycling." - Emily, Copywriter
