Our very own Head of Finance, Peter Broude and his family have done an amazing job, raising over £300,000 for the Young Oncology Unit (YOU) at The Christie Hospital in Manchester, which has paid for a new day unit for teenagers suffering with cancer called “Robs Day Unit”. To mark what would have been their sons Robert’s 30th birthday this month, the Broude family collected presents for the teenage cancer patients at the Christie.

Former patient at The Christie, Robert Broude, died in 2004 from a rare form of cancer, aged only 19. To mark what would have been his 30th birthday, his brothers, Adam and Mark were on hand to collect over 60 presents for the teenage cancer patients in memory of their sibling. The family feel that donating presents and continuing to support the YOU is an achievement that Robert would have been proud of.

The family aims to raise £400,000 in total and are always finding new ways to support the hospital, and Robs Day Unit is a lasting tribute to Robert.

We were delighted to donate gift sets and hampers to the cause to support the on-going work at the Christie Hospital as we know the cause is close to the Broude Family’s heart. Visit Peter’s Just Giving Page here:
