The changing of the seasons is a beautiful time of year, and autumn is particularly special as the leaves turn a stunning colour and we can begin to get excited for the festive season around the corner. It’s important to remember to look after ourselves well at this time of year though, so just as the season’s change, so should your routine…
Ramp up the moisture
The combination of cold air outside and warm air inside can dry your hair and skin out, which makes moisturising essential. You’re probably pretty good at moisturising your face and hands in the colder months, but the rest of your skin gets thirsty too! Choosing a nourishing shower gel, like our Cacao body wash which contains vanilla and sage to nurture the skin.
Washing your hair strips it of its natural oils, so try reaching for the dry shampoo and only washing your hair every few days if you can. When you do wash it, opt for hydrating and moisturising products like our Coconut shampoo and conditioner, not only does it smell fantastic, it’ll help combat the drying effect of the elements.
Relaxing with lavender
Lavender is a herb which is widely regarded for its relaxing properties. It’s said to promote sleep and soothe the mind and body which makes it the ideal scent for times when you’re feeling stressed or unsettled. Our Lavender and Geranium range has a variety of different products to choose from, so you can decide how to fit this relaxing scent into your everyday life, whether it’s with shampoo and conditioner, hand wash or a hot soothing bath.
Changes that make you smile
Self-care doesn’t have to be about big, life changing transformations; the small things can be equally effective. Try cycling a different route to work every now and again, or getting off the bus a few stops earlier to enjoy the fresh morning air. Even a new, fruity body wash in your morning shower can set your day off with a smile, our Pomegranate and Rooibos body wash is a particular favourite!
Taking time out
“Me time” is essential to mental well-being particularly now the world is at our fingertips 24/7 and we’re always contactable. Turning your phone off for an hour and taking some time for a hobby, exercise or even just a candle lit bath can help us to focus better and wind down.
